VERNON LDS FAMILY HISTORY CENTER1506-35th St.Vernon B.C.Tel. 250-542-1721 This center is a branch of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. Most centers are located in meetinghouses of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Everyone is welcome to use these centres. Services of Family History CentersVolunteers will help you use the resources at each center. These resources include the International Genealogical Index, the Family History Library Catalog (tm), Family Registry (tm), and where available, Ancestral File (tm). The centers also have reference source and copies of some records from the Family History Library. The 1881 census for Great Britain is available.You can do much of your family history research at a family history center by requesting copies of records from the Family History Library. Most records are on microfilm or microfiche and can be loaned to a center for a small fee. While records from throughout the world can be used at any center, most centers do not collect or preserve local records. Since their staffs are limited, the centers cannot respond to mail inquiries.
