Historical Background
Bethel Funeral Chapel has been serving Vernon and area since March 1st, 1989. It is privately owned by Kerry & Phyllis Heidebrecht. It is Vernon's only full service family owned funeral chapel and it provides the community with dedicated and caring staff who are available 24 hours a day to serve the need of the public.
Bethel has a bright, spacious and newly renovated facility complete with a Chapel for services. It also has a Tea Room which is available for after service receptions.
Layout
The address of Bethel Funeral Chapel is 5605-27th Street in Vernon. Behind a pale coloured stucco wall enclosure lies the property. There is a beautiful well-maintained Rose Garden for the placement of cremated remains. Bethel also keeps a "Book of Remembrance" which contains the names and exact locations of those whose cremated remains have been placed in the garden. There is a wall (right) on the building directly behind the rose garden where there is provision for the placement of bronze memorial plaques.
A detailed map (below) provides information necessary in order to find the resting place of the cremated remains of those who have been placed in the garden.
