CEMETERY INSCRIPTIONS-FAUQUIER B.C.

    FAUQUIER CEMETERY
Located on a gravel road hidden from view by heavy bush, this is a new cemetery.  It was set up to replace old graves submerged by the waters of Arrow  Lake  when B.C. HYDRO (Electricity Authority) raised the lake level by dam construction in the 1960's.
Fauquier is 60 km. S. of Nakusp on highway #6 and is the eastern terminus of the Arrow lakes ferry crossing. Approaching the ferry dock from the east turn to the right at the first business frontage road on to Upper  Fauquier Road, go  past Willow Street then turn to the right on gravel just prior to a rock bluff on the left.
Having turned right, proceed 50 ft. and turn left.  After turning left, proceed 50 ft. and the cemetery is on the right.  It has double gates, is well kept, but because of surrounding bush is hidden from the road .

The ARROW LAKE INDIAN CEMETERY Plaque in Fauquier cemetery commemorates those who were buried in the Arrow Lake Indian Reserve.  The one remaining grave was moved to this site in 1988 in preparation for the Arrow Lake reservoir. There are no names or dates on this grave.
