MALAKWA CEMETERY
This is a well kept cemetery with chain link fence on three sides and heavily wooded on the eastern side.
On Highway #1 travel east from Sicamous for aproximately 11 km. and you will reach a section of four lane
highway. It is really a very long passing lane. 0.5 km from the beginning of the four-lane, you'll be in the
community of Malakwa, and at a road called Malakwa. Turn left onto this road and bear to the right
along it for 0.8 km. On your right will be  Johnson-Howard road - take it for 0.1 km - you're at the
cemetery. This cemetery can be seen from the highway, if you've gone past the turning off point on
Malakwa Road. In fact, the east end of the cemetery is fronted by the highway but there is no direct access.

on behalf of the Vernon And District Family History Society.

The earliest burial in this cemetery, according to monument inscriptions, was 1920 - Dorothy Cherbo.

The following information, gleaned from the B.C. Archives Death records may be of interest
to some researchers.
ANDERSON Alberta July 9, 1935  Age 72.
 This may be one of the Anderson graves where the wooden marker is.

HEDBLOOM Eric J. Hedblom Jan.13, 1932  Age 61.
 This may be the HEDBLOOM with the wooden cross only.
