Private William Logue was my grandfather's uncle. He was born February 24, 1892 in County Antrim, Ireland to James and Lizzie Logue. He came to Canada circa 1915 to the Prince Albert, Saskatchewan area. William's brothers David (my great-grandfather) and James were already working on a farm in the area.

I have been unable to find a record of William coming over by ship as of yet. He joined up with the Canadian Expeditionary Force on April 1, 1915 according to his attestation papers. Shortly after joining he was sent with the Royal Canadian Regiment to France.

Private William Logue was killed on September 16, 1916 at the War of the Sommes at the young age of 24. He is buried in the Courcelette British Cemetery five miles North East of Albert, France.

Other than appearing in the Irish Census with his parents and siblings there is nothing else known on this brave young man.
